The political corridors of Bihar are buzzing after Congress leader and Purnea MP Pappu Yadav’s pointed critique of Nitish Kumar’s Rajya Sabha move. Yadav advocates for Nishant Kumar to take over as CM, arguing it’s the only way to preserve JD(U)’s relevance in the state.
Addressing IANS, Yadav expressed shock at the timing. ‘Workers and Bihar’s people never abandoned Nitish. So why deceive them now?’ He slammed the Holi-day announcement: ‘No war justified this haste. Nitish was ill earlier— was this transition pre-planned?’
Yadav foresaw public backlash. ‘Voters will ask: We gave you the mandate, made you the hero—why transfer it?’ He flipped the narrative: ‘Public didn’t betray; leaders did, with traitors hiding in JD(U)’s ranks.’
His solution is clear: Promote Nishant. ‘For JD(U)’s survival, Nishant is unmatched as CM face. NDA won on Nitish’s appeal—BJP shouldn’t renege on that trust. This move upholds the people’s verdict and alliance integrity.’
Yadav reiterated his stance, positioning Nishant as a bridge between Nitish’s era and Bihar’s future. With elections looming, this endorsement could reshape dynastic politics in the state, testing loyalties across the spectrum.
