Defying unimaginable sorrow, Juhi Das from Kishanganj, Bihar, has etched her name in success by bagging 649th rank in UPSC CSE. The Khagra Prempul resident’s feat has the district in festive spirits, hailing her as a symbol of perseverance.
This was Juhi’s fourth shot at the exam; she had advanced to interviews twice before but fell short. Tragedy struck hardest when her father, Niwaran Das—a motor parts shop owner—succumbed to illness on February 13. With her interview slated for February 24, Juhi shouldered the final rites, honored traditions, and pressed on to Delhi, emerging victorious.
Her educational journey shines bright: topping matric with 9.4 CGPA at Bal Mandir Senior Secondary in 2015, scoring 92% in Intermediate at Chaitanya, Visakhapatnam in 2017, and earning a B.Tech in Kolkata. Preparation was solitary—self-study dominant, with occasional online notes, mentored by Sapna Kumar Das and Sushobhan Das. Her mother Annika, a Nyay Mitra, provided unwavering motivation.
Rank 649 positions her for coveted roles like IPS or IRS. As accolades pour in from citizens and peers, Juhi’s narrative resonates deeply, reminding all that true strength blooms amid adversity. Her path forward promises impactful contributions to nation-building.
