Bihar politics heats up as RCP Singh, former JD(U) chief and minister, champions Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant for the Chief Minister’s position. In a bold statement, Singh affirmed Nishant’s leadership qualities but deferred the choice to Nitish and the NDA.
‘Nishant brims with political prowess and a luminous path ahead,’ Singh declared. The call on elevating him to CM status must come from Nitish Kumar alongside NDA decision-makers.
With a deep-rooted connection, Singh has long supported Nishant, offering blessings at his political initiation. He views Nishant’s involvement as a boon for the state’s future.
Singh challenged skeptics: if Nishant merits Deputy CM, why not CM? Yet, he underscored that faction management defines true leadership—uniting disparate groups under one banner.
He lamented Nitish’s no-show at Nishant’s March 8 party induction. ‘CM on stage, Nishant touching his feet—it would project seamless legacy and boost morale,’ Singh opined on the missed symbolic opportunity.
Sidestepping rejoining JD(U) queries, Singh cast doubt on Nitish’s rumored Rajya Sabha move post recent electoral triumph and oath-taking. ‘Active in governance, why entertain such talks?’ he questioned circumstances fueling the buzz.
On BJP ambitions, Singh recalled their 2020 restraint despite seat advantage, honoring Nitish via Modi’s intervention. ‘Public mandate backs him; any shift demands accountability,’ he asserted.
Advising Nishant, Singh stressed experiential learning in Bihar’s 46-ministry setup. ‘Practical governance forges leaders, not just studies,’ he wrapped up, highlighting the grind of realpolitik.
