Attendees numbered over 30, featuring reps from ITC, UNCTAD, WTO, diplomats from Nicaragua, Cape Verde, Kazakhstan, and Swiss entities. Their discussions centered on amplifying trade cooperation.
Dorothy Tembo of ITC reflected on CIIE’s achievements over eight editions, noting how it has linked global enterprises, buyers, and end-users to cultivate connections, shared insights, and sustainable alliances.
Luis Maria de la Mora from UNCTAD commended China for championing the multilateral system, propelling South-South ties, and mitigating gaps in development across industries.
Liang Hong, China’s Minister Counsellor in Geneva, portrayed CIIE as China’s gift to the world—a public product exemplifying the shared future community concept.
CIIE Bureau’s Song Shangce detailed Hongqiao Forum’s goals: consensus-building, advocating openness and mutual development, and backing multilateralism. Praise flowed for their synergy with UN Sustainable Development Goals through 2030.
The summit concludes on an optimistic note, positioning CIIE as a cornerstone for resilient global supply chains and equitable growth in an interconnected world.
