Beginning Monday, commuters of the Noida-Greater Noida Metro can go for the ‘Fast Trains’ which can skip some low-ridership stations throughout peak hours to scale back journey time on the Aqua Line, officers stated on Thursday.
Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) Managing Director Ritu Maheshwari had earlier this week introduced the brand new initiative aimed toward saving time of commuter’s travelling between the dual cities.
“The Fast Trains will begin service with effect from February 8,” a spokesperson for the NMRC stated, including that each one COVID-19 protocols like face cowl/masks and social distancing are obligatory for commuters.

Earlier, Maheshwari had stated Metro trains ranging from terminal stations (Sector 51 Station and Depot Station) from 8 AM to 11 AM and 5 PM to eight PM on weekdays i.e., Monday to Friday shall be “fast trains”.
Of the 21 stations on the Aqua Line, 10 stations shall be skipped by these “fast trains” throughout peak hours, saving 9 minutes of journey time between the terminal stations, she had stated.
The stations which shall be skipped are: Sector – 50, Sector – 101, Sector – 81, Sector – 83, Sector – 143, Sector – 144, Sector – 145, Sector – 146, Sector – 147 and Sector 148 Metro Stations, based on the NMRC.
QR Tickets is not going to be offered at these stations and for these stations throughout ‘Fast Trains’ working hours and the frequency of trains from Monday to Friday will stay the identical i.e., 7.5 minutes throughout peak hours and 10 minutes throughout non-peak hours.
On Saturdays and Sundays, Aqua Line trains will proceed to run at a frequency of quarter-hour with no skipping of stations, based on the NMRC.
The Aqua Line had a median each day passenger depend of seven,915 in December 2020, officers stated.
