Part of an under-construction hydropower challenge of state-run energy main NTPC has been broken by the avalanche in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district on Sunday. The firm has mentioned that it’s monitoring the state of affairs repeatedly together with the district administration and police.
Part of the under-construction Tapovan Vishnugad hydropower challenge (520 MW) has confronted damages whereas one other privately-owned Rishi Ganga hydro challenge (130 MW) was fully devastated.
“An avalanche near Tapovan in Uttarakhand has damaged a part of our under-construction hydropower project in the region. While rescue operation is on, the situation is being monitored continuously with the help of district administration and police,” NTPC mentioned in a tweet.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat mentioned that 125 individuals are lacking following the huge flood.
The incident occurred after the water degree within the Dhauliganga river, instantly surged on Sunday morning following an avalanche close to the Rishi Ganga energy challenge. The 85 km river meets the Alaknanda river at Vishnuprayag on the base of Joshimath mountain in Uttarakhand.
