The vacant departmental housing of Electricity Company in Korba city will be allotted to retired and government employees on rent. The management agreed to provide job resolving all the cases of compassionate appointment. The company is suffering due to outsiders residing in the houses.
The Korba East and HTPP of the power company remain in the west. The number of employees has increased due to the retirements and no new recruits. Due to this, departmental houses are becoming empty. There was a long-standing demand to rent these houses to retired workers or government employees by fixing the amount. Labor union representatives had also proposed to the company, but the management had not yet agreed to it. In a meeting held in the presence of the company’s chairman Subrata Sahu, it was agreed to rent the houses along with trade union representatives. Contract workers have been employed in the power company for a long time. As a rule, regularization should be done after the end of the training period of these two years, but the personnel working since 2016 could not be regularized yet. Similarly, land displaced workers have not been regularized. The chairman has asked to regularize all these personnel. Besides, contractual workers have been asked to bring uniform compensation benefits in case of accident and bring compassionate appointment, hairless medical facility, post restructuring proposal on death and bring uniformity in promotion.
