On the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Smt. Indira Gandhi, the people of the state today received the gift of another tourist destination in the form of ‘Indira Priyadarshini Nature Safari Moheranga’. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the Nature Safari from his residence office through video conferencing. This excellent nature safari has been developed by the Forest Department on 555.850 hectares in Moheranga forest area on Kharora-Tilda road, about 40 km from the capital Raipur.
Addressing the program, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that it is very important to preserve nature in order to get rid of the global problem like global warming. For this, he appreciated the Nature Safari Moheranga developed by the Forest Department and described it as important for promoting the development of tourism including wildlife conservation as well as environmental protection. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that the former Prime Minister of the country, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, was very fond of nature, wildlife, bio-diversity and tribal society. Expressing happiness on the launch of Indira Priyadarshini Nature Safari Mohrenga near the capital on her birth anniversary, the Chief Minister expressed happiness that Nature Safari- Mohrenga is a commendable effort towards protection of forests along with environmental protection.
On this occasion, Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar said that the development of ‘Indira Priyadarshini Nature Safari Mohrenga’ will further boost tourism in the state. This will also facilitate the conservation of wildlife. He said that trees of Saaja, Khair, Tendu, Semha, Char, Bel, Dhavda, Amla, Banyan, Tamarind, Mahuna, Arjuna and bamboo species exist in the green forests of Nature Safari Moheranga. Four ponds for wildlife have been built in this area. Also, Nature Safari has developed the necessary facilities for tourists with a four-storey watch tower, pagoda, biodiversity hall and grand entrance. Gypsies have been arranged by the department for touring the safari, in which tourists will be able to enjoy nature safari. In the nature safari forest, tourists in the natural environment, including 30 to 40 species of birds, wild animals such as chital, wild boar, rabbit, jackal, fox, monkey, mongoose, dragon, etc. Will be able to see Medicinal plants have also been planted in this safari.
