    Raipur, 28 November 2024 / Due to the efforts of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board has received a major achievement from the Central Government. The Central Government has approved an amount of Rs 147.66 crore for two important tourism projects of the state under Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2024-25. This includes construction of Chitrotpala Film City at Mana Toota Raipur at a cost of Rs 95.79 crore and construction of Tribal and Cultural Convention Center at Mana Toota Raipur at a cost of Rs 51.87 crore. The commencement of these projects in Chhattisgarh will help in strengthening the tourism infrastructure in the state and presenting the local culture at the global level. These schemes will prove helpful in employment generation, development and establishing Chhattisgarh in the global map of tourism.

    On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Shri Vivek Acharya met Union Tourism Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi on 15 October 2024 and gave information about the tourism activities of Chhattisgarh and Special Assistance to States for Capital. Under the investment scheme, proposals worth about Rs 300 crore were submitted for Film City, Convention Centre, Wellness Resort and Nature City in the capital Raipur. In view of which, approval of Rs 147.66 crore has been received from the Central Government for the construction of Film City and Convention Centre.

    This concrete step of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has opened the doors of immense possibilities for film making and film tourism in Chhattisgarh through the construction of Film City. This success is an important step for the tourism development of Chhattisgarh and is opening new opportunities towards establishing the state as a global tourism destination.
