There are no signs of ending the corona virus epidemic in the near future. Meanwhile, now e-commerce company Flipkart has extended the duration of its 12,000 employees to work from home. Now these employees will work from home under the ‘Work from Home’ policy till 31 May 2021. The Walmart-owned firm has taken this decision in view of the current situation. Flipkart has stopped the second phase of its ‘back to office plan’ till May next year. A few days ago, Amazon has also extended the period for its employees to work from home till June 2021.
A senior Flipkart official says that over the past several months, we have shown great resilience and character in dealing with epidemics while adopting new ways of working fully, collaborating and being optimistic. The leadership team is also feeling proud for the positiveness and enthusiasm of the employees.
Business Standard has given information about this in one of its reports. Flipkart has continued the work of calling those teams who are already working from the office on a roster basis. However, all other employees will continue to work from home. The company has also clarified that all employees coming to the office have to follow the guidelines and protocol.
