A 16-year-old lady who was kidnapped from West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district and brought to Bangladesh has returned to her household, because of coordinated efforts by the border guards of the 2 nations, a BSF official mentioned on Friday.
The lady, a resident of a village near the worldwide border, was taken to the neighbouring nation by a Bangladeshi man on March 7, Border Security Force 112 Batallion Commandant Arun Kumar mentioned.
The battalion is deployed on the Hakimpur border outpost. The information of her abduction reached the BOP and Kumar established contact together with his counterpart within the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) on the opposite facet of the border.
He shared details about her with the BGB official and requested him to rescue the lady.
Constant liaison with the BGB and joint efforts of border guards of each the nation’s ensured the secure return of the lady who was handed over to her household on Thursday, Kumar mentioned. However, what occurred to the accused man is just not identified.
