    Raipur, 27 November 2024/ The roar of the male tiger rescued from Paras Nagar sector of Kasdol Nagar will now echo in the Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve. The tiger, which was rescued by forest department officials, was today safely released into the core area of ​​Gurughasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve. Guru Ghasidas Tamor Pingla is the new tiger reserve of Chhattisgarh.

    It is noteworthy that the forest department had received information about a male tiger, which was roaming in the Baranwapara forest area in Kasdol tehsil of Balodabazar forest division for the last 8 months, reaching village Kot of Kasdol tehsil. Forest Department staff along with necessary rescue material and wildlife medical officers immediately reached the spot and rescued the said tiger from Paras Nagar sector of Kasdol Nagar. On the instructions of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), the said male tiger was safely released in the core area of ​​the newly formed Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve at 8 am today.

    On this occasion, Chief Conservator of Forest (Wildlife) and Area Director Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve Raipur, Conservator of Forest (Wildlife) Area Director, Elephant Reserve Surguja, Director Guru Ghasidas National Park Baikunthpur, Deputy Director Elephant Reserve Surguja, Veterinary Director of Kanan Pendari-Zoo. Officer Dr. PK Chandan, Veterinary Officer of Guru Ghasidas Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve, Dr. Ajit Pandey, Assistant Director Guru Ghasidas National Park Baikunthpur, Superintendent Tamor Pingla Sanctuary, Superintendent Semarsot Sanctuary, regional officers-employees and member of Chhattisgarh State Wildlife Board Shri Gaurav Nihalani were present.

    Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that it is a matter of joy that the tiger rescued by the Forest Department officials has been safely released today in the core area of ​​Gurughasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve. He said that for the conservation and promotion of tigers in the state of Chhattisgarh, a new tiger reserve has been declared by the Government of India as 'Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve'. He said that the Tiger Reserve is the 56th Tiger Reserve of the country. The Government of Chhattisgarh, on the advice of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), notified the Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Korea, Surajpur and Balrampur districts of Chhattisgarh. Spread over a total area of ​​2829.38 square kilometres, the tiger reserve includes 2049.2 square kilometers of core/critical tiger habitat, which includes Guru Ghasidas National Park and Tamor Pingla Wildlife Sanctuary. It is the third largest tiger reserve in the country after Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve in Andhra Pradesh and Manas Tiger Reserve in Assam.
