    A farmer died after slipping and falling into the river. Traffic was disrupted due to the overflowing of the Karam river. The Sukkad river was in spate.

    Naiduniya News, Gujri. Drizzling rain has been continuing in Gujri and its surrounding areas for the last 24 hours. Heavy rain started at 2 pm on Sunday afternoon and continued till 6 pm. Due to continuous rain, rivers and streams overflowed. Karam and Sukkad rivers overflowed. Traffic was stopped due to water on the culvert.

    In village Jahangirpur, a farmer who had gone to wash his feet in the Karam river slipped and was swept away by the strong current of the river. When the villagers saw him, the farmer was pulled out of the river with great difficulty. The relatives took him to Dhamnod hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

    Accident happened while washing hands and feet

    According to the information, 45-year-old Shravan son of Sukalal, a resident of village Jahangirpura, was working on his farm. Then he went to the Karam river to wash his hands and feet. While washing his hands and feet, the farmer slipped and was swept away by the strong current of the river. The farmer kept floating in the strong current of the river for about a kilometer.

    Some villagers saw a man floating in the strong current of the river near Saat Matra Mata Mandir. Then the villagers went into the river and brought the man out with great difficulty. After identifying the man, the villagers informed his relatives. The relatives took the farmer to Dhamnod Government Hospital. Where the farmer was declared dead after being checked by the doctor.
