The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a scathing attack on the BJP government in Delhi, claiming that they are deliberately damaging the city’s healthcare system to enable its privatization. Furthermore, AAP leaders have accused Chief Minister Rekha Gupta of spreading misinformation. Addressing a press conference, AAP Delhi state president Saurabh Bharadwaj expressed his dismay at the condition of government hospitals in Delhi under the BJP’s governance.

Bharadwaj contrasted the current situation with the AAP’s previous initiatives. He noted that the earlier government provided free medicines and tests, and arranged for procedures at private facilities when government hospitals were unable to provide them. He alleged that the current BJP government has caused a shortage of medicines, tests, and surgeries in government hospitals and at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, to justify privatization.

Bharadwaj stated that healthcare services are being intentionally dismantled, leading to a decline in patients coming to Delhi for treatment. He indicated that the government is creating this scenario to facilitate privatization, emphasizing the months-long shortage of medicines in Delhi.

He mentioned cuts in budgets for crucial health services, further hampering the healthcare sector. Bharadwaj also discussed the challenges in procuring medicines and the impact on the ‘Farista Scheme’.

Regarding the decision to lower the drinking age, Bharadwaj accused the BJP of hypocrisy. He accused the Chief Minister of repeated falsehoods, and raised questions about the BJP’s handling of the pollution in the Yamuna River.
