Al-Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana, is now the subject of two FIRs filed by the Delhi Police, stemming from allegations of cheating and misleading accreditation claims. These investigations are connected to the recent fatal blast that occurred near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi. The Delhi Crime Branch has confirmed the registration of these reports, one addressing cheating and the other concerning forgery charges. A team from the Crime Branch visited the university’s Okhla office, issuing official notices and requesting essential documents. This legal action follows concerns raised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) over serious discrepancies within the university. The NAAC has issued a show-cause notice to Al-Falah University for publicly displaying accreditation that it does not possess, stating the university is neither accredited nor has applied for accreditation. This false representation is deemed highly deceptive to prospective students and their families. The university, established by an act of the Haryana Legislative Assembly, has attracted intense scrutiny following the arrest of three doctors linked to the “white-collar terror module” and the Delhi blast, with authorities investigating its possible role as a sanctuary. Originally an engineering college, Al-Falah University received NAAC ‘A’ grading in 2013 and was granted university status the following year.
