Jamshedpur’s escalating stray animal population has become a major concern, with the Anti Corruption Foundation of World calling on the district administration to implement stringent control measures. Led by Jharkhand State General Secretary Shashi Acharya, a delegation submitted a detailed appeal to Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyrathi, highlighting the deteriorating public safety. The memorandum illustrated how the increasing presence of stray dogs, bulls, and other animals has rendered city roads, intersections, and residential areas unsafe. The community is facing a dual threat of injuries from wild bull attacks, which have affected several women, and common occurrences of stray dog bites, leading to significant fear. The foundation is pushing for immediate solutions: the creation of permanent animal shelters, the vigorous resumption of stray dog sterilization initiatives, and the relocation of these animals from high-traffic zones to controlled environments. They insist that the administration must act swiftly and decisively to ensure citizen safety and reduce animal-related accidents. The group indicated that protests will follow if these vital public safety demands are not met promptly, with the administration being held responsible for any delays.
