In a T20I match against Bangladesh, Afghanistan faced a challenging situation, with a defeat and a critical moment involving a run-out. The incident saw Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz playing a central role, contributing to both a run-out and a near repeat of the same error.

    The Run-Out Fiasco
In the initial game of the 3 T20I series in Sharjah, Afghanistan suffered a four-wicket defeat against Bangladesh. A key moment was when Gurbaz caused a run-out, impacting the team’s performance. The sequence of events began in the fifth over when Gurbaz called for a run after a soft shot. However, Darwish Rasooli, at the non-striker’s end, was caught short, resulting in a run-out.

    Close Call for Gurbaz
On the very next ball, Gurbaz almost replicated the mistake. After Rasooli’s dismissal, Mohammad Ishaq came to bat. Gurbaz ran on the third ball from Mustafizur Rahman, but Ishaq sent him back. Gurbaz managed to return safely with a dive, narrowly avoiding being run out.

    Key Performances
Despite the run-out incident, Gurbaz was the highest scorer for Afghanistan, with 40 runs from 31 balls, including two fours and three sixes. Afghanistan managed to score 151 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Bangladesh successfully chased the target, reaching the required score in 18.4 overs with six wickets down.
