Bihar’s agricultural landscape is set to transform with the launch of an AI-powered agricultural radio broadcasting system, spearheaded by Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha. The inauguration, held at the media center within the Agriculture Department in Patna, saw the presence of key officials, including the Principal Secretary of the Agriculture Department, Pankaj Kumar.

Deputy CM Vijay Sinha highlighted that the combination of agriculture and artificial intelligence signifies a potential revolution in agricultural technology. This innovation is designed to support farmers in increasing their income while also equipping them to handle the challenges presented by climate change and other factors.

A key component of this initiative is the Bihar Krishi Radio, a digital radio service accessible via the Play Store and App Store. This application is specifically designed to provide farmers with the timely and accurate information they need. The service offers critical information, including weather forecasts, guidance on crop disease management, details on agricultural schemes, market prices, and updates on mandi conditions.

The core of the system is its AI-powered analysis, designed to process data related to weather, soil conditions, and market trends, offering immediate insights to farmers. The radio service is offered in local languages, ensuring accessibility and understanding. It operates around the clock and features interactive capabilities, allowing farmers to engage directly with the AI system to get answers to their questions.

The implementation of the radio service will offer several benefits to farmers. They will receive up-to-the-minute and accurate weather information, enabling them to protect their crops. They will also receive prompt advice on pest and disease management to minimize crop losses and will be kept up-to-date on market prices to optimize their revenue. The service will also provide them with direct access to information regarding government schemes and subsidies, enabling them to leverage these opportunities.

The Deputy Chief Minister expressed his belief that this AI-based agricultural radio broadcasting system will ignite an information revolution in the agricultural sphere. He emphasized that this step will be instrumental in integrating farmers with contemporary technology, improving productivity, and fostering a more profitable agricultural environment.

Also present at the event were other high-ranking officials, including the Director of the Agriculture Department, Nitin Kumar Singh, and the Director of Horticulture, Abhishek Kumar, along with other department officials.
