Air India Criticized by DGCA for Flight Time Violations on Bangalore-London Route

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a warning to Air India due to violations of flight time regulations on its Bangalore-London flights. The DGCA’s investigation revealed that two flights exceeded the 10-hour duty time limit in May. The flights, identified as AI133, operated on May 16 and 17, 2025, surpassing the maximum flight time specified in the Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR). The DGCA found the airline’s clarification regarding the extended flight durations to be unsatisfactory and cited non-compliance with key operational provisions by Air India’s Accountable Manager. A Show Cause Notice was issued, and the airline’s response was deemed insufficient. Air India’s management is required to adhere to all aviation safety regulations to prevent future violations.
