The sudden and tragic passing of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in an aircraft mishap has prompted Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut to voice strong sentiments, terming it a misfortune while insisting on a comprehensive investigation.
In remarks to the press on Thursday, Raut underscored the urgency of clarity. ‘We all know something went wrong—aircraft faults must be revealed to the public. No stone should be left unturned.’
Lauding Pawar as a heavyweight in Maharashtra politics, Raut said, ‘Among the most revered leaders, his contributions were immense. Losing him is a devastating setback that politics will feel acutely. He’ll live on in our remembrances.’
Raut connected the dots to the Ahmedabad incident, where Vijay Rupani perished alongside others. ‘Back-to-back crashes signal deeper issues. We require a methodical probe into discrepancies fueling these disasters.’
He lambasted the tradition of condolences. ‘Tributes from top officials are routine, but ineffective. Real progress lies in investigations and fixing the problems at hand.’
Citing a decade of unresolved aviation accidents, Raut accused the DGCA of inaction despite committee formations. ‘No tangible results have surfaced. This must end—prioritize safety reforms to honor the fallen,’ he advocated passionately.
