In a major development, America has initiated the second stage of President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace blueprint on Wednesday. U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff revealed plans prioritizing disarmament, a non-political administration, and massive reconstruction following the ceasefire phase.
Witkoff’s social media update confirmed: ‘We’re launching Phase 2 of the 20-point plan to conclude the Gaza conflict, advancing to demilitarization, technocratic governance, and rebuilding.’ The National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) emerges as the interim technocratic authority.
Key actions include total disarmament of illicit armed outfits and comprehensive rebuilds. This phase amplifies U.S. oversight, with demilitarization targeting every unsanctioned weapon holder.
Directly addressing Hamas, Witkoff demanded: ‘Full adherence to all obligations, including immediate handover of the remaining dead hostage remains.’ Noncompliance risks ‘grave repercussions,’ he cautioned without elaborating.
Reflecting on Phase 1 triumphs—landmark humanitarian access, ceasefire adherence, full living hostage returns, and 27/28 remains recovered—officials see seamless continuity. Gratitude flowed to Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar for pivotal brokerage.
