During the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Punauradham temple and complex in Sitamarhi, Bihar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the gathering. He also inaugurated the Sitamarhi-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express and unveiled the design of the Janaki Temple. Shah accused Rahul Gandhi of focusing on vote-bank politics and anticipating the reasons for a defeat in the upcoming Bihar elections. He targeted the Congress and RJD for their opposition to the SIR process, asserting that those who have illegally entered the country would not receive voting rights. Shah emphasized the importance of the Punauradham temple as a symbol of the revival of Bihar and the Mithilanchal region, aiming to restore it as an educational hub. He recognized the Modi government’s efforts to honor Mithila. Shah also discussed that the Mithilanchal culture is a crucial aspect of Indian culture. The construction of the Maa Janaki temple will cost 890 crore rupees. 137 crore rupees will be allocated for the renovation of Maa Janaki’s temple. He highlighted the respect for the power of the mother in Indian culture, referring to Prime Minister Modi’s work on the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the renovation of other religious sites.
