During a recent episode, Big B shared a heartwarming story from his life. A contestant, Vijay, shared his desire to win prize money to buy his parents a home, which prompted Amitabh Bachchan to reflect on his own experiences.
Vijay shared that when he started working, he took his parents to a restaurant and encouraged them to order anything they wanted. This gesture touched Amitabh Bachchan deeply.
In response, Amitabh Bachchan shared his experience, stating, “The person you are sitting in front of also ate in a restaurant for the first time one day.” He then recalled the first time he took his parents to the famous ‘Moti Mahal’ restaurant in Delhi after he started earning.
Bachchan described the apprehension he felt. He said, “I was very scared. I thought, this is a big restaurant, only rich people go there. If we go, how will people look at us, what will our clothes be like? These thoughts run in the mind. So I can understand your situation.”
Adding to the episode’s charm, Amitabh Bachchan also shared a story about his parents. He mentioned that they accompanied him to Srinagar during the filming of ‘Kabhi Kabhie’. Director Yash Chopra saw them and asked them to act in a scene as Shashi Kapoor’s parents, which they did, making a cameo appearance.
