Ankit Kumar, captaining North Zone in the Duleep Trophy, stepped up in the absence of Shubman Gill. In the second innings, Kumar’s impressive batting, including a stellar century, propelled North Zone to a commanding position. Alongside Yash Dhul, he formed a crucial partnership of 240 runs. With this performance, North Zone had a lead of 563 runs. This was Kumar’s sixth century in first-class cricket. The 27-year-old batsman has played 37 first-class matches and scored over 2300 runs.
