The human rights crisis in Balochistan deepens with the reported forced disappearance of Umar Baloch, allegedly at the hands of Pakistan’s security apparatus. Paank, affiliated with the Baloch National Movement, detailed how soldiers raided Umar’s residence in Kech’s Mand Koh on Thursday night, abducting him sans warrant or due process.

Family members and locals report the assailants provided zero details on Umar’s fate, vanishing him into an uncertain void. Paank’s fierce denunciation calls for his prompt tracing, release, and judicial appearance, while beseeching worldwide human rights entities to enforce accountability.

Parallel voices from Baloch Voice for Justice amplify the alarm, decrying a spike in abductions as state-orchestrated suppression. They spotlighted five recent vanishings tied to military actions, framing them as egregious breaches demanding global intervention.

Compounding the outrage, Paank highlighted the extrajudicial slaying of Zarif Baloch, whose perforated body surfaced in Awaran’s Nondara on January 6. Missing since a security raid on his Malar home three months prior, Zarif’s demise fits a pernicious trend of snatch-and-kill tactics.

‘International human rights conventions are being trampled,’ Paank warned, urging courts and activists to secure releases and prosecutions. BVJ echoed appeals to the international arena for probes and justice. In Balochistan’s shadowed corners, these events signal a humanitarian emergency, pressing for urgent diplomatic pressure on Islamabad to halt the reign of fear.
