    In a recognition ceremony in New Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the officers involved in the successful anti-Naxal operations conducted in Chhattisgarh. He emphasized the government’s dedication to eliminating the Naxal threat in India. The event was attended by Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma.

    Shah took to X to commend the officers and express his desire to meet the soldiers who participated in the operations, planning a visit to Chhattisgarh.

    These operations, carried out under the direction of the Union Home and Cooperation Minister, involved the Chhattisgarh Police, including DRG forces from various districts. A significant operation from May 18-21, 2025, in the Abujhmar region resulted in an encounter on May 21, 2025, in the forests of village Boter. During the encounter, 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Baswaraju alias Gaganna, were killed, and a substantial amount of weapons and ammunition was recovered.

    Several key police officers from Chhattisgarh were honored, including Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police Sundarraj, and Superintendents of Police Prabhat Kumar, Jitendra Yadav, and Shalabh Singh. Other attendees included Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka.
