In Delhi, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah recognized the contributions of Chhattisgarh officials involved in recent anti-Naxal operations, applauding the historic victories. He highlighted the government’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were in attendance.

On X, the Home Minister wrote, “I met with officials who significantly contributed to the recent anti-Naxal operations and congratulated them on their success. I look forward to meeting the brave soldiers and will visit Chhattisgarh soon. The Modi government is dedicated to eliminating the menace of Naxalism.”

The operations, guided by the Union Home and Cooperation Minister, involved the Chhattisgarh Police and DRG forces from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur. A notable encounter on May 21, 2025, in the forests of village Boter, resulted in the death of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Basavaraju alias Gaganna, with a large quantity of weapons and ammunition recovered.

Those honored included Chhattisgarh’s Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police (Anti-Naxal Operations) Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj, Superintendents of Police Prabhat Kumar (Narayanpur), Jitendra Yadav (Bijapur), and Shalabh Singh (Bastar). Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, and other high-ranking officials were also present.
