Amit Shah, the Union Home and Cooperation Minister, met with officers in New Delhi to acknowledge their contributions to the success of recent anti-Naxal operations. He expressed his congratulations on the historic achievements and reaffirmed the Modi government’s dedication to eliminating Naxalism from India. Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, and Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Sharma, were also present.

Shah, in a post on social media, lauded the officers’ efforts and expressed his intention to meet the soldiers who participated in the operations, planning a visit to Chhattisgarh. The operations, guided by the Union Home Minister, involved the Chhattisgarh Police, including forces from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur districts. A major encounter on May 21, 2025, in the Boter forests led to the death of 27 Naxalites, including a prominent leader, and the seizure of a substantial amount of weapons and ammunition.

Several key officials from Chhattisgarh were recognized, including Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police Sundarraj, and Superintendents of Police Prabhat Kumar, Jitendra Yadav, and Shalabh Singh.
