In a significant development in Pakistan, Aleema Khan, sister of PTI chief Imran Khan, and approximately 400 supporters are facing charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act. An FIR has been officially filed concerning a protest that took place outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. Law enforcement officials allege that the demonstration became violent, culminating in arrests and accusations of conspiracy, obstruction, and assaulting police officers.

The FIR, registered at the Saddar police station, names 35 individuals, including Aleema Khan, Qasim Khan, and Salman Akram Raja, alongside a large group of unnamed protesters. The charges also include criminal conspiracy, a serious offense suggesting coordinated action against the state. Police confirmed that 14 individuals were apprehended during the protest and later brought before an anti-terrorism court. They are accused of breaching prohibitory orders and attacking police personnel.

According to the FIR, the protesters engaged in disruptive activities, including anti-government sloganeering and road blockades, exacerbating inconvenience for the local populace. Allegations include throwing stones and glass bottles at the police, who claim the protesters ignored warnings and interfered with their official duties. This legal action follows reports that the authorities are contemplating a move for Imran Khan from Adiala Jail due to the continuous protests staged by his supporters outside the prison facility.
