Director Anurag Kashyap has publicly condemned the upcoming AI-generated film ‘Chiranjivi Hanuman – The Eternal,’ expressing his strong disapproval through an Instagram post. The film, a collaboration between Abundantia Entertainment and Collective Media Network’s HistoryVerse, is promoted as India’s pioneering ‘Made in AI Made in India’ production, targeting a Hanuman Jayanti 2026 release. Kashyap’s criticism specifically targeted Vijay Subramaniam, the Founder-CEO of Collective Artists Network. Kashyap’s post began with a sarcastic congratulation, then highlighted the irony of the very organization that represents artists embracing AI. Kashyap wrote that, ultimately, these agencies and companies are concerned with their own profits and use AI because they don’t make enough money from artists. He encouraged artists and anyone identifying as a creative to question this or leave the agency because it has shown they consider the AI performance superior to the artists themselves. Kashyap ended his post with severe criticism of the Hindi film industry, saying that it is a grim future for artists and a damning assessment of those involved.
