The India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2025, scheduled for September 14th in Dubai, has gained significant attention. This match marks the first meeting between the two teams after the Operation Sindoor. Controversy has arisen in India, with some individuals opposing the match. The Indian team’s coach has responded to these concerns, stating the team’s position and deferring to the BCCI. Both teams are concentrating on the match, each hoping to secure a victory in their opening game.

Speaking about the India-Pakistan match, India’s batting coach, Sitanshu Kotak, highlighted the team’s commitment to a strong performance against Pakistan. The players are focusing on the game.

Kotak said, “We will act according to the BCCI’s guidance. The decision to play against Pakistan rests with the government and the BCCI. We are here to play.” He also emphasized the competitive nature of India-Pakistan matches and the team’s aim to stay focused.

Opposition to the match has grown within India. Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and India’s Operation Sindoor targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan, tensions have increased between the two countries.

This has also affected sports, as the Pakistan hockey team did not participate in the Asia Cup held in India. However, the Indian team is scheduled to play against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai on September 14th.

The BCCI has been criticized on social media. A video of India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav interacting with Pakistan’s captain Salman Ali Agha led to further criticism, which intensified opposition within India. Consequently, reports suggest a decrease in ticket sales for the match.
