The Asia Cup 2025 saw Pakistan and Bangladesh competing in a match that served as a virtual semi-final, with the venue being the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan won the match and advanced to the final. Bangladesh’s campaign in the tournament ended with this result. Pakistan qualified for the final, but they couldn’t displace India from the top spot in the points table.

Pakistan lost to India in the Super-4 stage. They managed to bounce back, defeating Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to book a place in the final. Despite this, they couldn’t surpass India in the points standings. Even in the group stage, Pakistan was in second place and couldn’t secure the top spot in the Super-4. Now that Pakistan’s Super-4 matches are done, India is expected to finish first.

India has accumulated 4 points from two victories. Their net run rate is 1.357. India’s next match is against Sri Lanka. Pakistan also has 4 points, having won two of their three matches. But their net run rate is 0.329, which is lower than India’s. If India avoids a heavy defeat in their last Super-4 game, they are set to retain their position at the top.

Bangladesh is positioned third with 2 points, from one win and two losses. They have been knocked out of the tournament. Their net run rate stands at -0.831. Sri Lanka is at the bottom, with 0 points and a net run rate of -0.590, having lost both of their matches. They will play India in their next match, hoping to end the tournament on a winning note.
