The Asia Cup 2025 witnessed a remarkable feat as Oman’s Amir Kaleem, at 43 years of age, etched his name in the history books. In a match against India, which was also India’s 250th T20I, Kaleem smashed a half-century, scoring 64 runs off 46 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes. This outstanding performance not only earned him the title of the oldest batsman to score a half-century against India in any format but also saw him break records in T20I cricket. Kaleem surpassed previous record holders like Chris Gayle and Jacques Kallis, setting a new benchmark for age and performance in the sport.
