The second ODI between India A and Australia A in Kanpur showcased a commanding performance from the Australian side, resulting in a resounding victory. While the Indian batsmen displayed impressive form in Ahmedabad, the Indian bowlers in Kanpur faced a challenging situation. The match, a part of the ongoing ODI series, presented a different narrative from the previous encounter.

In a stunning reversal from their previous high score, India A struggled, failing to reach 250 runs. Australia A seized this opportunity, winning the rain-affected match by a significant margin of 9 wickets.

The Indian batting lineup crumbled after a brilliant performance in the previous match. Abhishek Verma was out on the first ball. Captain Shreyas Iyer struggled, resulting in early wickets for India A.

Tilak Varma rose to the occasion, scoring a brilliant 94 runs. He helped India A to reach a total of 246 runs in 45.5 overs. Riyan Parag also played a good innings and scored a half-century, but he couldn’t convert it into a big score. Jack Edwards, the Australian captain, excelled with the ball, taking four wickets.

Australia’s innings started with aggressive batting. Rain stopped play after six overs. When the match resumed, Australia A was given a revised target under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method. The team needed 160 runs in 25 overs. Following the dismissal of Jake Fraser-McGurk, Machenzie Harvey, along with Cooper Connolly, displayed explosive batting. Australia A reached the target in just 100 balls, winning by 9 wickets. Harvey scored 70 runs off 49 balls, Connolly scored 50 runs off 31 balls, and McGurk added 36 runs off 20 balls. The Australian team scored 22 fours and 6 sixes, leveling the series 1-1.
