Australia’s women’s cricket team has established a new benchmark in Women’s One Day International (WODI) cricket by equaling a record that had stood for 28 years. This feat was achieved in the third and final ODI match of a series against the Indian women’s team, played in Delhi. The Australian team scored a total of 412 runs in 47.5 overs before being all out, which matched their previous highest score.

Previously, Australia’s highest score in a women’s ODI was also 412 runs, achieved against Denmark in 1997. In that match, Australia scored 412 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 50 overs. They have now equaled this score in their recent match against India.

The Australian batters displayed a dominant performance in Delhi, allowing the team to reach 412 runs against the Indian women. Beth Mooney was a standout performer, not only scoring a century but also achieving a career-best ODI score of 138 runs. She completed this score in 75 balls, including 23 fours and one six.

Georgia Wareham, opening the innings, also scored her career-highest ODI score. She scored 81 runs off 68 balls, with 14 fours, representing her first score above fifty. Ellyse Perry also contributed with 68 runs. Australia recorded century partnerships for both the second and third wickets, and an 87-run partnership for the fourth. These partnerships played a vital role in helping the Australian women’s cricket team reach their total of 412 runs.

Before this match, Australia’s highest score against the Indian women’s team was 371 runs. In this instance, they not only exceeded that previous high but also equaled the record established in 1997.
