The subcompact SUV segment in India is expanding, with several new models scheduled for release in 2026. Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch its first mass-market hybrid vehicle, the Fronx, equipped with its own hybrid technology. Hyundai will introduce the Bayon, boasting a new, locally-developed 1.2-liter TGDI petrol engine. Tata is working on the Scarlet, a subcompact SUV, which may feature design cues from the Sierra. Mahindra will enter the hybrid SUV segment with the XUV 3XO, also offering an electric variant.
