Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch a new SUV in India, designed to compete with the Hyundai Creta. Details about the new SUV are scarce, but its launch date is set for September 3rd in the Indian market. A recent teaser showcases a full LED tail lamp design. The tail lamp design includes a 3D appearance and a sleek brake lamp, with turn indicators positioned on each side. The design of the tail lamp bears a resemblance to the Maruti Suzuki Swift, but with a more stylish appearance. This new SUV is part of Maruti Suzuki’s plan to expand its presence in the mass-market SUV segment. It is expected to be based on the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, with a positioning between the Grand Vitara and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza in the company’s lineup. According to reports, this new SUV will be sold through Arena dealerships. Maruti Suzuki aims to create a product that attracts a large customer base and potentially surpasses the Hyundai Creta in sales. The new SUV will likely share powertrains with other Maruti Suzuki vehicles. A 1.5-liter petrol engine, producing 101 bhp and 139 Nm of torque, is expected, alongside a petrol-CNG option. The new SUV may also offer a petrol-hybrid powertrain, similar to the Grand Vitara. Maruti Suzuki has recently started producing lithium-ion batteries in India, potentially using these batteries in the hybrid powertrains of the Grand Vitara and the new SUV, which could impact the SUV’s price.
