Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to introduce a new SUV in India on September 3rd. This vehicle will enter the competitive compact SUV segment, facing off against models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun. The new SUV will be positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara models. Utilizing Suzuki’s Global C platform, its dimensions are expected to be similar to those of the Grand Vitara. The exterior design will incorporate new DRL headlamps and headlights, along with a pronounced hoodline. Several engine choices are expected. The K15C 1.5-litre mild-hybrid engine is likely to be available, possibly producing approximately 101hp and 137 NM of torque. A CNG powertrain option will also be offered, delivering an output of approximately 86hp and 121.5Nm of torque. There’s also a possibility of the SUV featuring the Grand Vitara’s 1.5-litre strong hybrid electric powertrain. The petrol-only version is expected to offer a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Hybrid versions may come with an eCVT automatic. Safety features will include Level 2 ADAS in higher trims and six airbags as standard, in addition to systems such as ABS, EBD, and ESC. Interior features will be high-end, including digital displays, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and ventilated front seats.
