    There are 474 recognized Ayurveda colleges in the country. Recognition of 34 Ayurveda colleges is banned. 31 colleges are private, 3 are government and 1 is from Madhya Pradesh.

    State Bureau, Naiduniya. Bhopal: With the consent of the Central AYUSH Ministry, the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) New Delhi has banned the recognition of 34 medical colleges across the country. This includes one Ayurvedic college each from Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, two each from Bihar and Punjab, three each from Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and 17 Ayurvedic Medical Colleges from Uttar Pradesh.

    Rakesh Pandey, national spokesperson of Ayush Medical Association, said that out of these 34 colleges, 31 are private colleges and three are government Ayurveda colleges from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan (Ajmer). There are 474 recognized Ayurveda colleges across the country, where NEET UG counseling for session 2024-25 for central and state quota is going on.
