Delay in payment due to incorrect claims, institutions working honestly are also affected: Shri Kataria

Stakeholder workshop of Ayushman Bharat PM Jan Arogya Yojana organized

    Raipur,
Under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Ayushman Swasthya Yojana, a stakeholder workshop was organized today on Monday at New Circuit House, Civil Line Raipur. This workshop was organized under the vision of Health Department Secretary Shri Amit Kataria and guidance of Commissioner Health Services cum Chief Executive Officer Dr. Priyanka Shukla.

Under the scheme, information was given in the meeting organized by the National Health Authority, Government of India in New Delhi in January 2025 that the highest number of fraud claims have been found in Chhattisgarh in the country, and Chhattisgarh is at the fourth position in terms of the number of such hospitals. Information was given to the hospitals in the workshop on how trigger claims can be reduced. Also, they were informed that claims should not be triggered in the future as well.

Shri Amit Kataria stated that the Ayushman Yojana is very helpful for the poor and middle class citizens. With this scheme, they got the option to choose a hospital for their treatment. He said that making wrong claims starts a dilemma. This tarnishes the image of the scheme and shakes the trust of the public and the hospital. Due to this, the real patient who should get treatment, often gets deprived. Also, there is a delay in the correct payment of hospitals and institutions working honestly are also affected. And finally, the biggest loss is suffered by the poor and deprived families, for whom this scheme is a lifeline.
Also, he said that proper registration of hospitals should be done in the scheme and they should be inspected from time to time. Government hospitals should also upload complete documents while making claims in the scheme so that unnecessary claims are not rejected. He expressed hope that our state would come first in the country in the positive standards of the scheme.
In this workshop, information was given throughout the day on various points such as general information of the scheme, how to make Ayushman card, how to make Ayushman card in Vaya Vandana Yojana, how to make claims correctly, how to make documents correctly, clerical errors should be minimal, what to do and what not to do in the scheme, use of Abha I.D. under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and use of compliant software etc. The participants present in the workshop put forward their doubts, which were resolved by the speakers.
In this workshop, Dr. Surendra Pambhoi, Director, State Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Chhattisgarh, Shri T.N. Singh, State Information and Science Officer, N.I.C, Chhattisgarh, Shri Manish Kochhar, Technical Director, N.I.C, Chhattisgarh, Dr. Surendra Shukla, Chairboard, Hospital Board of India, Ch.G., Ms. Pooja Shukla Mishra, Joint Director (Finance), and Dr. Dharmendra Gahwai, Project Director, State Nodal Agency, Ch.G., representatives from the National Health Authority, Government of India, Chief Medical and Health Officers of all the districts of Chhattisgarh, Civil Surgeon cum Hospital Superintendent, District Ayushman Nodal Officer, District Project Coordinator and Hospital Advisor and representatives of private hospitals of Raipur, Durg and Bilaspur districts were included.
