The BCCI has updated its allowance structure for employees, simplifying its domestic travel policy. These adjustments, implemented this year, affect employee allowances. Based on the existing policy, employees receive ₹15,000 per day during short-term travel (up to four days) and ₹10,000 per day during long-term travel. This long-term travel includes events like the IPL, WPL, and ICC programs hosted in India. A single visit contingency allowance in conveyance was ₹7,500. With the updated policy, the casual allowance has been removed, and the policy provides employees with ₹10,000 per day during travel. Sources from BCCI indicate the daily allowance, excluding tax, is ₹6,500. For the duration of the 70-day IPL, an employee is entitled to receive a daily allowance of ₹10,000 and can claim up to ₹7 lakh. The claim is adjusted based on how much they travel; if they travel less, a 60% allowance is provided, and if they travel less than 40% of the IPL period, no allowance is provided. For foreign travel, the majority of BCCI employees are entitled to $300 per day. Honorary officials such as the President, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President, and Joint Secretary are entitled to a daily allowance of $1,000 when on foreign tours. They also receive ₹40,000 daily compensation for one-day meetings in India and ₹30,000 each day for domestic work trips that last multiple days.
