Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Narendra Kashyap, in an exclusive IANS interaction on January 21 from Lucknow, backed PM Modi’s pointed critique of West Bengal’s governance during the Malda rally. He squarely blamed CM Mamata Banerjee’s strategy of accommodating infiltrators and appeasing select groups for the state’s alarming security breakdown.

‘Mamata’s tushthikaran (appeasement) has crippled democracy and hurt the aam aadmi,’ Kashyap said, painting a grim picture of how these policies have fueled unrest. The minister’s comments come amid ongoing concerns over violence in Sandeshkhali and other areas.

Lashing out at SP, Kashyap recalled their string of UP poll failures, including coalition experiments and the ‘two lads’ alliance that imploded. He dismissed PDA as a fleeting electoral ploy lacking any real organizational base.

On Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray’s BMC election loss, Kashyap attributed it to his abandonment of Balasaheb’s fierce Hindutva stance. ‘Balasaheb championed Hindu rights; Uddhav’s U-turn led voters to abandon him,’ he observed wryly.

Kashyap raised the red flag on Bangladesh’s treatment of Hindus, noting murders and assaults under an unresponsive regime. ‘India’s persistent diplomatic pressure must yield results for minority protection,’ he urged.

Replying to Digvijaya Singh, the minister hailed RSS as a true nationalist force, attributing partition to Congress-Nehru errors alongside Jinnah. His forthright views highlight BJP’s aggressive narrative against opposition flanks.
