West Bengal’s political landscape heated up as TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee vowed unwavering resolve against external pressures. “Neither TMC nor Bengal’s people know how to sell their spine,” he stated emphatically during a packed rally, captivating thousands.

Contextualizing his remarks, Banerjee addressed the barrage of allegations from BJP leaders, who paint TMC as corrupt and minority-pandering. He flipped the script, accusing the center of fiscal strangulation— withholding funds for MGNREGA, PM Awas, and more— to punish Bengal’s electoral defiance.

Banerjee painted a vivid picture of progress: Kanyashree halting child marriages, Swasthya Sathi covering millions in health insurance, and Lakshmir Bhandar uplifting women. These homegrown successes, he argued, outshine BJP’s hollow slogans.

He warned against polarization tactics ahead of polls, calling for Bengal’s bhadralok and commoners to unite. “Our spine is forged in the fires of 2021’s mandate,” he declared, referencing TMC’s landslide victory.

Observers note Banerjee’s evolution from strategist to mass mobilizer. This speech not only quells speculation of a TMC fracture but fortifies defenses. As national parties eye Bengal’s 42 Lok Sabha seats, Abhishek’s defiance underscores TMC’s battle-ready stance.
