Bengaluru’s traffic is a significant challenge for its residents. Commuting in the city is often a test of patience, with travel times varying drastically. The unpredictable nature of the commute is due to a combination of factors, including weather conditions. The city’s rapid expansion, driven by the IT sector and migration from across the country, has exceeded its infrastructure’s capacity. The growing number of vehicles on the roads, combined with inadequate public transportation options, has significantly intensified the traffic problem. The Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) has highlighted the absence of a proper peripheral road network, the issues of waterlogging during the monsoon season, and the high volume of registered vehicles. Various proposed solutions are being considered, including new road projects, to improve traffic flow. The city’s traffic issues have resulted in frustration among residents, with many expressing their concerns on social media.
