RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat delivered a pivotal address in Bengaluru, emphasizing that the Hindu identity in India is synonymous with a profound responsibility for the nation. He challenged the notion of an ‘A-Hindu’, asserting that all individuals in India stem from identical ancestral heritage, positioning Hinduism as the nation’s intrinsic culture. Bhagwat declared India as a Hindu nation, elaborating that its Muslim and Christian populations are also descendants of Hindu ancestors. Consequently, he posited, every Hindu bears a responsibility towards Bharat Mata. Bhagwat further categorized Hindu society into four distinct groups based on their relationship with their heritage. He reiterated the concept of shared ancestry and the resultant national obligation tied to the Hindu identity. In his concluding address, he advocated for a unified Hindu community to actively propagate the philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and to cultivate a globally influential Indian model of moral and compassionate living. This significant lecture was a component of the RSS’s 100-year anniversary program.
