A three-day Bhoj Mahotsav will be organized in Bhopal in the memory of Raja Bhoj who made a special contribution in the field of public welfare, engineering, writing and bravery. Raja Bhoj’s contribution will be showcased through exhibitions, film screenings, drama performances, musical programmes and book display.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav gave these instructions to the officials of the related departments including culture in a meeting with ministers on Friday regarding the outline of the festival. He said that research work should be encouraged along with giving fellowships on the works of Raja Bhoj.
Raja Bhoj’s identity is associated with Bhopal. Raja Bhoj Dwar should also be built in his name on the Bhopal city border. Apart from doing public welfare work like building lakes and dams in Dhar to Bhopal and other areas, Raja Bhoj has also written about 125 works.
His handwritten letters and other collected items should also be brought before the general public. Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda, Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel, School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh, Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, Chief Secretary Veera Rana, Additional Chief Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Principal Secretary Culture Shivshekhar Shukla and other officials were present in the meeting.
