As anticipation grows for Bigg Boss’s 19th season, Dr. Abhineet Gupta has made serious claims. He accuses Priyanka Banerjee of a scam, stating that she promised him a spot on the show and then did not deliver.
Priyanka Banerjee addressed the allegations in an exclusive conversation with TV9 Hindi, dismissing them. She stated that the claims are a publicity stunt and answered the interviewer’s questions.
On the topic of her relationship with Dr. Gupta, she explained that she met him in Bhopal. She was running the Persona Mrs. India beauty pageant. Gupta wanted to be famous, so he was asked to be a jury member. She gave him publicity for this and covered his expenses. She said that she nor her team had received any money from him.
Responding to Gupta’s claims of a meeting with Endemol and demands for 1 crore rupees to get into Bigg Boss, Banerjee clarified that they were discussing sponsorship for the pageant. Gupta was included due to his obsession with Bigg Boss. The meeting was about the brand, she said, and nothing about Bigg Boss was discussed. She stated that they did not take any money, nor did they ask for any money.
Asked if she thought Gupta’s actions were a publicity stunt, Banerjee replied in the affirmative. She believed that this was a deliberate attempt to gain publicity, especially since casting for Bigg Boss had begun. She stated that the public also considers this a publicity stunt.
Speaking about how these allegations impacted her personal life, Banerjee, who is a single mother, said it was hard. She worried about her 14-year-old son and potential image issues, and custody issues. She said the last five days have been extremely difficult for her.
Concerning legal action, Banerjee said she filed a complaint and would take legal action. She sees it as an attempt to damage her reputation, especially as a divorced, single mother in Indian society. She said that if she did not speak now, this would be allowed to continue, and that she would fight for herself.
Banerjee said that she has not tried to contact Dr. Gupta. She said that she cannot forgive him for his actions, because there is no apology for doing something deliberately to cause damage.
