The electoral clock has started ticking for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, with the Election Commission of India formally announcing the election schedule. The voting for the 243-member Bihar Vidhansabha will occur in two phases on November 6 and November 11. The results are expected on November 14.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has successfully concluded its seat-sharing negotiations. Both the JDU and BJP will contest 101 seats each. HAM and RLM have been allotted six seats each, and Chirag Paswan’s LJP-RV will be in the fray for 29 seats.

On the other side, the Mahagathbandhan alliance, comprising RJD, Congress, VIP, and Left parties, is mobilizing its forces to challenge the incumbent NDA government.

An interesting entrant is Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj, which has made a bold announcement to contest all 243 seats independently. This could prove to be a significant factor in the upcoming elections.

Moreover, Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM, which had won five seats previously, plans to contest a substantially higher number of seats this year. This strategy has led to discussions about potential shifts in voting patterns and polarization, particularly in constituencies with a considerable Muslim electorate.

Detailed below is the complete list of candidates from each party and the constituencies they will be contesting in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.
