In a significant move, Bihar welcomed around 22,000 new constables into its police force on Saturday. The recruits were presented with appointment letters by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. A key highlight of the event was the oath-taking ceremony, where the new constables pledged to abstain from alcohol for the rest of their lives. They also committed to strictly implementing the state’s prohibition laws. The event took place at Bapu Sabhagar in Patna, and it was a notable event. The Chief Minister had previously provided details about the event through his social media handle, X. The recruitment is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance law and order. Nitish Kumar emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining a strong legal framework, highlighting the constant increase in the number of police personnel since 2006. The government is aiming to fill more than 229,000 positions by the end of the year, with the objective of curbing crime, increasing the police presence across rural and urban areas and providing better security for the public.
