With the Bihar election campaign in full swing, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has intensified the political battle by accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being willing to ‘dance for votes.’ During a public address in Muzaffarpur, as part of a Mahagathbandhan rally alongside leaders like Tejashwi Yadav, Gandhi made a pointed remark about the Prime Minister’s perceived willingness to engage in theatrics for political gain.

Gandhi’s statement implied that PM Modi would readily put on a performance, including dancing, if it meant securing votes. The BJP has reacted strongly to this criticism. Party spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari issued a sharp rebuke, calling Rahul Gandhi a ‘local goon.’ Bhandari asserted that Gandhi’s words constituted an insult to the poor populace of India and Bihar who back Prime Minister Modi, and further alleged that Gandhi was belittling voters and India’s democratic system. This controversial remark fuels the ongoing political discourse in Bihar, coming after the BJP had questioned Gandhi’s presence and impact on the political stage.
